Bird Nesting Patterns

This was a class project on a late modern design movement, for my work I decided to do Josef Albers color interactions. I used the color interactions to show times of day, when the birds are awake vs when they are asleep. The image advertises for a mock bird watching book.
I took the most inspiration from the cover of interaction of color, but I also referenced the vintage colors used in his other color interaction work.
I did 24 thumbnails of different concepts to do for the project, I knew I wanted to use the colors to show changes in the environment. I explored showing different seasons or times of day, but eventually settled on showing birds in a nest (thumbnail 2) For my final.
I submitted the left image to my professor for critique, requested changes were to fix the symmetry on the birds and make the text have better hierarchy between the title and the author. The right image is the final, showcasing the changes I made.
My critque questions for my classmates would be: if the type is effective, and if I should of added more to the piece?
